Giovanni Diodati o Deodati (6 Giu 1576 - 3 Ottobre 1649) fu il primo a tradurre la Bibbia in italiano dall'ebraico e fonti greche. Era un teologo protestante italiana che è nata a Ginevra, di una nobile famiglia originaria di Lucca che era stato espatriati a causa della sua protestantesimo.Diodati è principalmente famoso come l'autore della traduzione della Bibbia in italiano (1603, a cura di note, 1607). Ha anche intrapreso una traduzione della Bibbia in francese, che è apparso con le note nel 1644.
