Description
Coxswain helps you organize your rowing: Connect your Android device to your Waterrower and choose your training program.- record your workout while watching Youtube videos or other media (choose an intent to be executed on training start)
- row against previous workouts
- adjust the workout display (long press to choice from distance, duration, strokes, energy, speed, pulse, stroke rate, stroke ratio, time, split, average split, delta distance, delta duration)
- export your workout to TCX (Training Center XML) to import it into your favorite fitness tracking App or service.
- export your workout to your calendar
- export your workout to Google Fit (experimental)
- read heart rate from your Waterrower, Android sensor or a connected Bluetooth LE/Ant+ device
Your Waterrower S4 can be connected to your Android device
- either via USB-OTG adapter (USB-A-female to USB-micro/USB-C resp.), requires On-The-Go (OTG) support on your device
- or Bluetooth, requires the Waterrower S4 Bluetooth Comm Module (check the revision number printed on it, "S4 comms 36" is not supported)

How to install Coxswain APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download Coxswain APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK

5 ★Been using this for about a week and I am impressed! It's great as is but I'm looking forward to future improvements. Update Oct 2020 Month after month this app is the most seamless and most helpful tool for getting the most out of my waterrower. The connections (bluetooth and usb) from my phone to my HRM and to the S4 monitor on the rower are easy to establish and trouble free. After getting so much from it, I want to thank the developer for this fantastic contribution to the waterrower!
5 ★This app is amazing. When I purchased my waterrower I was very disappointed that the software available through the official website was all windows based and needed an actual windows computer. This app does everything I need via a USB on the Go cable. It allows me to record my workouts, compare my history and plug up my bluetooth heart rate monitor via my phone. It also allows me to easily design HIIT workouts. Something you can do with the S4 computer but it's very tedious.
2 ★I'm not seeing what other reviewers are seeing. I find it not particularly functional. The pre-programmed workout programs work but I cannot edit them. It will not let me edit the duration of the 10 minute workout and it is super aggravating to have it quit after the 10 minutes have expired. I see where I can have it continue after the selected program has expired but I would like to set the duration to 30 minutes. Even if I add a new program for duration, the app defaults to 30 seconds and doesn't allow for me to edit. I have been unable to find any user guides anywhere and nothing in the program seems to be intuitive. Sorry. I appreciate that it is free but I would rather pay for something that worked, than have something for free that does not.
2 ★I want to use this app, but it is just not happening for me. If I create myown workout to count down from 500kcals it looks like it's going to be okbut then as soon as I start the work out it puts 45 in the energy field, Ihave no idea where that number has come from. The instructions are nonexistent
5 ★The app works, but I wish it supported using all of the WaterRower S4 data in particular the power (Watts). I would like to see Watts on the display and in the exported data. The app fell short on having an intuitive interface for editing. I changed what appeared to be an input field (distance) but the true distance did not change.
5 ★I'm a beginner rower and the S4 is too sophisticated for me at the moment. Found this app, figured it out in 3 minutes, created an interval workout, plugged my phone into a USB hub and the hub to the S4. Started rowing my workout and the voice guide was gold! Exported the results to Google Fit no problem. If developer wants to create a donation link, would readily thank him. Much appreciated!!
5 ★I'm a relative newbie to rowing but an otherwise self-motivated garage gym trainer mostly doing strength training and since rowing isn't my main focus this app is ideal to guide/bully/motivate me to get the work done (the spoken instructions and sounds are excellent for this). Example: I'm typing this having literally just finished a workout where I started off thinking "nah, not today, I'll stop in at the next..." instead, thanks to this app, I improved my time and stroke efficiency over the last workout.
5 ★Great for darkly lit room or people with poor eyesight. Keep up the good work. I'd be happy to pay for it.

5 ★Super functional and makes rowing more fun and easier to track. The Google fit integration is awesome but it should sync up automatically without having to manually export. Overall the interface could use some polish but functionally it's 5 stars.
