Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★This was a top rated app until the recent updates. Now I can't even find the hourly news broadcast when I search for it. I used to have it on my notifications list but it isn't even on the list. By dividing up your broadcasts to different apps, you've made us choose. Poor business decision.
5 ★I had issues with this app because of my Samsung phone. After the developers reached out to me and explained what was wrong on my end, and how to fix it, the app is working great. The app works well, and has a number of high quality NPR podcasts along with the news. I would recommend it.
2 ★It's a decent app overall, but really sloppy on details. One very important one on mobile is data usage. My most recent listening session, I only listened to predownloaded stories, but somehow the app managed to use about 67MB of mobile data. It also crashes frequently
4 ★Great app. Nice upgrade recently, but now it freezes every 5 to 10 minutes. Works after I shut down the app and restart, but then freezes again. The below response / troubleshooting info did not help. The settings were all correct. But, Uninstalling and re-installing the app has helped a lot.
1 ★This app is still crashing all the time my Galaxy Note 10 plus takes logs of every single time this app , crashes it crashes a minimum of 16 times per hour. Google needs to fix on how developers respond to this review because I cannot click a link that you put in your response.
2 ★The app keeps crashing or freezing when listening to stories. 😒 Most of the time while driving! Additionally, when trying to listen to download stories you need a data signal to listen to them. 😔
2 ★This app used to be great but since the update it crashes constantly if you don't have it open with your screen on. Will update to 5 stars if it gets fixed. Edit: followed instructions app developer emailed to allow background data (thank you for the response) but it's still crashing.
3 ★So, I use this app nearly all day, every day. It does the job pretty well, but has several problems that drive me nuts. About 4 times a day, autoplay will get broken, requiring me to force stop the application. There is no way to listen to weekend edition, if it already played. There is a "listen to all" button on the playlist of segments, but it just plays random other shows. Very annoying. There isn't a podcast download for weekend edition, so it is essentially lost to time. Please fix :-)
3 ★I use the app everyday, but it has some very annoying bugs, most annoying of which is the inability to listen to recently played stories. The "recently heard" list has not worked right in one way or another since the launch of the app. (Unsurprisingly, renaming it to "Finish listening" didn't help, lol.) Seriously, though: Episodes fail to show up on this list all the time! If I accidentally click skip and want to go back, it's pure luck as to whether the episode will be on the list. Please fix!
1 ★This new app lost some good features... The keep listening is a replacement for something that worked great... used to be that the show would just start back up, now you have to look for it... Programming changed too, try this... National newscast, follow with up first, then politics and shortwave... what you get is the same story served up over and over and over and over and over... it's like @#%$ groundhog day... Finally, it's swinging fast to blood and guts, if it bleeds it leads...
1 ★Clunky for listening to live radio. Just not user friendly. For example, if you want to listen to your local station live, you either have to click on the menu, find the station, scroll down within the next window, scroll past another pop-up, and then you can listen to it. Or you could find it on the homepage by scrolling all the way down (it will continually get populated with new content, so keep on scrolling, then as soon as you're going to click on it, you'll see an ad pop-up). Meh.
2 ★Love NPR and having programs in one place. BUT I HATE THIS APP! It is so hard to use - it is not user friendly! There is no alphabetical list of programs, no "recently heard," and no way to create Favorites to find them easily. Even if you click Follow, thatist doesn't always show up under explore. It is hard to find current News from National or Local programs. I have loaded and unloaded this a bunch of times. Please make it more user friendly.
