RxDroid is a simple medication reminder app. Apart from reminding you to take your meds, it will also keep track of your pill count, warning you to get a refill in time.
This app is free and open source, contains no ads, and requires only very limited permissions.
I'm a medical student and this app is a hobby of mine, so development can be slow at times!

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★Free, minimal and reasonable permissions, and extremely useful. The UI isn't perfect, but see "free" and "extremely useful". Given that having a lot of medications to keep track of is strongly correlated with age, and age is strongly correlated with decaying eyesight, it would be better were font size adjustable. But this is a nit-pick. Thanks to the dev for a free and useful tool which isn't bombarding me with ads or selling my data. 💜
5 ★Simple, clean UI without overwhelming ads.
5 ★2016 The best app I have found for keeping track of when (or if) I have taken my medications. It is simple to use, it is a small-sized download compared to some, and it doesn't need a lot of permissions. I tried several others and uninstalled them for a variety of reasons. This one I kept. If you don't need a comprehensive life-style/health app and just want a medication tracker with reminders, I would definitely recommend this one. Update 2024, still using this app and it's the best.
5 ★A really useful and important app for me. If you have the means and find it as useful as I do, I encourage you to donate to the author, as I have done.
5 ★this app works great for me. I am using it for over a year now. I tried many other apps before, this is the one to use
5 ★8+ years later and I still use this app every day. Due to changes in Android itself, a couple of basic permissions are now required, but still absolutely minimal. Still does everything I need! 11/12/2013 - Requires NO PERMISSIONS! Does what I need, without the feature bloat common in other apps of this type. Would love to be able to change the row/text/icon size, but otherwise perfect.
5 ★Awesome app, works as expected and gives notifications that won't go away unless you take your pills lol Ad free and lightweight, this app is perfect!
5 ★l've enjoyed using this app for several years now. It simplifies my life in keeping track of different meds on different days and times. I first used it to keep track of my cats meds but, now I use it for my meds, infection and refill schedule. I prefer and recommend this app to ones with lots of bells and whistles... Well thought out and straight forward. Thanks!
5 ★Reliable, decent interface, appreciate that it's open source so no one is profiting off my data.
4 ★Really practical, lightweight app. I have two suggestions for improvements. First: use the system settings for date formats (it now uses format m/d/yy). Second: add more options to the notification, for example a "skip dose" button and maybe the name of the meds you have to take. And maybe show at what time I took the previous dose. For some meds it's important to time the doses to each other, so if I took it a bit late in the morning I have to take the next dose in the afternoon later as well.
