Prithvi (pṛthvī, also pṛthivī) "the Vast One" is the Sanskrit name for the earth as well as the name of a devi in Hinduism and Buddhism.As Pṛthvī Mātā "Mother Earth" she contrasts with Dyaus Pita "father sky".
