الكتاب الخامس من سلسلة بحوث في نهج البلاغة للشيخ علي الشيخ سليمان اليحفوفيجاء في مقدمته :
وهدف هذا الكتاب هو بيان السبيل لتحقيق التكامل المنشود الذي هو الغاية والهدف، وسيتضح من خلال البحث أن ذلك لا يتم إلاّ بالجهاد الدائم والكفاح المستمر، وهو على أشكال متعدّدة، قد أفردنا لكل شكل منها فصلاً مستقلاً فكان الكتاب على أربعة فصول مرتبة كالآتي:
الفصل الأول: ونتحدث فيه عن جهاد الإنسان نحو الله سبحانه، وذلك أن تكامله لا يتم إلاّ بجعله تعالى هدفًا ومثلا أعلى لا بدّ من السعي نحوه.
الفصل الثاني: ويختص بالكلام عن جهاد الإنسان مع نفسه، والذي تكون العبادة أظهر أفراده، إذ ما هي إلاّ تعبير عملي عن جهاد الإنسان نحو الله سبحانه. ونثبت في هذا الفصل أن العبادة ضرورية من أجل تركيز وتنسيق سعي الإنسان نحو خالقه.
الفصل الثالث: ونتناول فيه جهاد الإنسان مع الآخرين، وهذا الجهاد يتّخذ أشكالاً وكيفياتٍ متعددةً، نفصلها في محلها.
الفصل الرابع: ونتكلم فيه عن جهاد الإنسان مع الطبيعة ومحاولة تطويعها وتسخيرها لمصالحه وأغراضه.
ومن خلال البحث سيتضح لنا أن أشكال الجهاد المتقدمة ليست مستقلة ومنفصلة عن بعضها البعض، بل هي تتبادل التأثير فيما بينها. وسنستعرض بعض مواطن التأثيرات المتبادلة في نهاية الكتاب إن شاء الله تعالى.
