Four routes, included in the app, will help you discover the most important places of pilgrimage in the capital of Lithuania. You will also get a chance to learn about the art, architecture and traditions of its churches.The first route takes you to the main sanctuary in Lithuania, i.e. Vilnius Cathedral. You’ll also visit the Church Heritage Museum, where the most striking masterpieces of jewellery art from Vilnius Cathedral Treasury are on display.
The Way of Mercy is an invitation to go on pilgrimage in the footsteps of the apostles of Divine Mercy – St. Faustina and Bl. Fr. Michael Sopocko, and learn the story of the first Divine Mercy image, which was painted in Vilnius.
The Way of St. John Paul II in Vilnius Archdiocese reminds of the holy pope’s visit to Lithuania and the talks he gave there. Moreover, it introduces the sanctuaries that are important not only to the archdiocese, but to the whole Lithuania as well. This route leads to Vilnius Calvary Way of the Cross and offers a unique chance to hear the Way of the Cross hymns that are typical of this region.
The “Churches of Vilnius: Monuments of History and Faith” route invites you to visit sanctuaries of undisputed significance for the history and culture of the city and the entire country. These Catholic churches not only beautify the Old Town but also tell of the architecture of past eras, the religious orders and local residents who built them.
