Lost Books of the Bible is a collection of New Testament Apocrypha, including many works which were admired and read by the early Christians, but which were later excluded from the canonical Bible. It includes accounts of the young Jesus, particularly the Gospel of Mary and the Protevangelion, which provides additional folklore about the birth and youthful adventures of Jesus and which are missing now. Of note are the letters of Paul and Seneca, and the letters of Herod and Pilate, which are most likely a forgery, but add more depth to the question of the historicity of Jesus. There are also a number of non-canonical epistles, such as Laodiceans. Also worth a close read are the three books of the Shepherd of Hermas, which uses apocalyptic and symbolic imagery. This collection is an invaluable selection of portions of the New Testament which illustrates the fluid nature of the early Biblical canon, and provides access to all of the 'spare parts.'

This is a popularized translation of the OT pseudepigrapha, quasi-Biblical writings which never achieved canonical status (or inclusion in any of the official Apocrypha). This isn't to say that these documents are forgeries, just that for one reason or another they were not considered part of the Biblical text by the first millenium (C.E.) compilers. This book contains translations of all of the texts found in volume I of the weighty Oxford University Press Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, without any of the apparatus.

3 ★The app is good and all, i mean to be honest it a 6 over ten. It would have been way higher but i do sincerely dislike the fact that i can't highlight or keep note or underline as easily as i can with the bible. It very provoking to have an important verse or even sentence i want to bring out without having to use pen and paper and not being able to. Please i beg of you in the name of Jesus Christ to fix it, please
4 ★I do like this app so I can read other stories. I which there was a way I could go to the next chapter. There needs to be an update to be able to read continually.
5 ★It's quite enlightening to know there is so much more that was left out. The huge gaps in years and some stories that never seem to add up really baffle the mind in the Bible but what can we do we, read it by faith. We are told not to add or subtract from the book...I suppose we'll get more answers on the other side...

And AS I continue to read I expect to gain further knowledge and to experience more of knowing God as my Saviour. I can't understand thoùgh how some of these books never made it into the bible as we know it.

4 ★It has great content though they were not indicated in the canonized holy Bible, we can't be sure that the writings were inspired by the spirit of the Most high.
4 ★Love the fact that it contains both the Lost Books and the Bible. It is somewhat enlightening, since the lost books contain the story of the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus... But I can't give 5 stars because there are so many typos. It could have been edited better...
