4 ★As a beginner learning to practice meditation, it's been very helpful in knowing how to meditate and be mindful, and to be told what is ok or expected. (Ie, "ok for mind to wander constantly, just aknowledge it and bring your mind back to your breath".) Having a voice walking me through it is great. I don't tend to enjoy the women's voices as they are not as calming and sometimes talk too fast. But overall, it's been a great app to start my journey.
1 ★The Mindfulness 101 program was pretty good. I was looking forward to trying a program to help with insomnia. I expected there to be one, since this app claims to have over 200 programs available. Too bad there are only 3 programs, none of which deal with insomnia. Either the app is broken and unable to access the whole database, or there is some flagrant false advertising going on here.
5 ★While I've been aware of and practicing mindfulness for years, the commitment to spending a minimum of 5 minutes a day with this app has made a remarkable difference in my mental state over the last 5 months. For the first 4 months I only had access to the 23 introductory modules. While the material was very good, it was limited. Having now had access to the plethora of content presented by different practitioners with varying subject matter, I can wholeheartedly recommend the app.
2 ★While I like the idea of this app, I think the execution is poor. First, the courses are all locked to whatever an employer deems is appropriate. For me, that means I just have to keep repeating the same 3 courses over and over even though the app claims to have 200+ courses available. I wish there was a way for me to unlock these without having to petition the company I work for. While the sessions themselves are informative, the presenters are quite stiff and formal. I feel like I'm listening to a rehearsed lecture (because I am) which, for me, detracts from absorbing the material. I wish the presenters spoke with a more casual tone. I'm only using this for the points my employer gives and at this point I just run the videos muted in the background since I've seen them all multiple times. Big disappointment.
4 ★so i managed to get the software finally working, and it had some great content, however when i watch a 5 minute video it only gives me 4 minutes towards my daily goals. with my tight schedule it makes it difficult to hit my goals in general without doubling my time investment. it would be nice if this was resolved, but otherwise it's a good app when you get it working.
1 ★App stopped working and is now rendered useless. No clear way to contact for support. Using this with the Virgin Pulse program through my employer and with it not working means I'm missing out on my benefits and rewards. Virgin Pulse should drop them because the sketchiness of how Whil is doing business is making the companies who partner with them look bad. Almost makes it feel like Whil is a scam. I'm very suspicious of them now.
5 ★Whil is incredible! It's helped me so much with the stress and anxiety that 2020 has brought into my life. The sleep courses are so effective and such a perfect way to end my day. I'm working my way through the Stress and Anxiety course and after just a few sessions, I can already recognize exactly when I'm triggered. Thanks to these sessions, I'm learning how to bring myself back down again. I love that you can choose the session length as well. Thank you Joe and everyone there!
5 ★It helps me relax and have mindful moments.
3 ★Update 3 Jan - love the content in this App and have been using faithfully for the past few months. Recently seems to keep dropping off in the midst of a session. Am on Samsung Android phone and have also tried to reinstall app. But the same problem persist. I fear the bad user experience in tech is preventing me from making full use of app.
3 ★Great mindfulness practices. It would be nice if you could access without having to go through your work or HR. It also would be nice if all the courses were open. I only have access to the introductory courses. But all in all this great to have access to these mindfulness techniques. I will watch the 14 lessons I have over and over again.
3 ★The app needs to cache data. Even moving between tabs puts it repeatedly into long cycles of loading with "Take a deep breath". If you expect people who have 15 minutes to spare to use your app don't make them wait for 5 minutes to load the content every time they tap a button.
5 ★Unbelievable. Really helpful. The meditations really get me to turn my attitude and mood around. It's helped me with creativity and productivity, too.
