Alala Tanalul ‘Ilma adalah sebuah kitab nadhoman yang sudah sangat lumrah dipelajari santri di pesantren se-Jawa dan Sumatra, berisi tentang Motivasi Belajar membuat kitab ini dijadikan sebagai dasar atau awal dari pembelajaran, biasanya kitab ini akan diajarkan ketika awal awal memasuki pesantren.Kitab ini berisi syair-syair atau nadhom yang telah tercantum dalam kitab Ta’lim Muta’alimin, namun istimewannya semua syair atu nadhom alala telah diberi nazam terjemahan dalam versi bahasa jawa , bait per bait diikuti dengan terjemahan bahasa jawanya, sangat membantu bagi santri pemula, namun tentunya harus mengerti tentang bacaan dan tulisan arab pegon.
Keseluruhan ada 36 bait syair dalam kitab ini ditambah dengan terjemahan bahasa jawanya keseluruhannya menjadi 72 bait.
