Help Scotland keep the spread of coronavirus under control by downloading and using the free Protect Scotland app from NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect service.Using the app is entirely voluntary. When you use the app, you will be alerted if you have been in close contact with another app user who has tested positive for coronavirus. If you test positive and you enter the unique code sent to you into the app, it will anonymously warn other app users whom you have been in close contact with.
Using Bluetooth, the app will search for other devices with the Protect Scotland app installed, which are within 2m of your phone. You don’t need to have a WiFi connection. The app uses a very small amount of your mobile phone data.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, encourage your friends, family and colleagues to do so too. The more people who download and use the Protect Scotland app, the more likely we are to keep coronavirus under control. . 1 ★Absolutely useless, my wife and myself all had Covid. Despite entering details on the app on both our phones we received zero notifications. Other close relatives also received zero notifications despite close contact. Not fit for purpose.
2 ★Following the latest update It appears my phone had turned off the exposure notifications switch in settings / Google/ covid-19 exposure notifications. What is worrying was / is the Protect Scotland app did not notify me in any way, until I happened to open the app by chance and only then did a warning appear. Why doesn't the app generate a warning every time it tries to check or update it's database ? It seems a very basic failing. ☹️😳 Also why no exposure checks reported anymore ?
5 ★A bit of a pain to drain battery keeping bluetooth/location on constantly, but a small price to pay for public health & safety!

1 ★Discovered that it hadn't been working for 3 weeks. Updated the app and it carried out 2 exposure checks then stopped working again. Pointless having it especially when working in education and having lots of contacts daily.
2 ★I was quite naive and feeling safe because I hwe receuved zero contact alerts, so was blissfully confident that I was OK. Until today that is, when I discovered that a) there was an update that was not automatically applied, b) there are so many criticisms of the app and c) so many complaint communucations to the developer remain unanswered.... Is the app a complete con? Is it just to calm the naive and stupid like me. I had not encountered any issues, but then I didn't expect to.. I was safe???
1 ★DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS. App is getting deleted!!! Had it from the get go and for some reason it decided to stop checking for contacts a few weeks ago. Anyway, installed the new app today and received a close contact notification. I have now been told by NHS Scotland contact tracers that it is up to me whether to self isolate or not!!!! Whats then point in having the app if thats the case?
1 ★Useless. It doesn't update automatically. So by chance I saw a new update available. Had someone near me who has tested positive and has updated their app with the result but it didn't alert me in any way. Whoever invented this, should be sacked.
1 ★According to covid exposure checks in settings the app did three checks between launch and November Reinstalled app in November, it hasn't carried out one single check since!
3 ★It says it is unable to check for exposures as Bluetooth is turned off, but it's on.
1 ★Had this app since it came out worked great, however since the update it never works. One scan done in the last 14 days. Disappointed no wonder the numbers are rising.
1 ★Why does it take 9 days after contact to be notified by the app. What use is that. Think of all the contacts you will have especially as a front line worker on 9 days.
