Researchers at Monash University have developed a diet and corresponding app to assist in management of the gastrointestinal symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The Monash University Low FODMAP diet works by restricting foods high in some carbohydrates called FODMAPs.

The app comes directly from the research team at Monash and includes the following:

- General information about the FODMAP diet and IBS.
- Easy to understand tutorials to guide you through the app and the 3-Step FODMAP diet.
- A Food Guide detailing the FODMAP content for hundreds of foods using a simple 'traffic light system'.
- A list of branded products that have been certified by Monash as low FODMAP.
- A collection of over 70 nutritious, low FODMAP recipes.
- Functions that allow you to create your own shopping list and add notes to individual foods
- A Diary that enables you to record food eaten, IBS symptoms, bowel habits and stress levels. The Diary will also guide you through step 2 of the diet - FODMAP reintroduction.
- The ability to adjust units of measurement (metric or imperial) and activate colour blindness assistance.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

4 ★Essential reference if you have food intolerances. Really helpful feature is the safe portion sizes that are given, usually by weight in grams. The only reason I haven't given it five stars is that it is somewhat geared to Australian produce.
1 ★Doesn't open properly on my 1 year old Android phone. Tech tried to help for a bit then gave up. Waste of money.
2 ★The search for food is pretty buggy. I often have to close the app and reopen it to get any results. Pretty frustrating especially considering the price of the app. But it is nice to have official information on your phone.
4 ★Generally this app is informative and helpful, the one thing I find difficult to get is when recording in your diary or personal notes the date and time can be quite random! Can it not default to the time you make the entry?
5 ★This app is life saver. I had a lot of problem and used a lot of medicine. Finally found this app and follow the instructions and now im much better. However, the diet for IBS is personalized and it depends on your past diet and type of IBS u have. For example some of food the app mentioned safe is not compatible for me. But most of thr information can be used as general and very useful.
5 ★Worth every penny I would not have been able to sit this food trial without it. Over a year later and I still use it! It's a one time fee and the money goes to researching more items!
5 ★FIXED! Thank you for your reply too, often nothing is ever sent back! Really happy with the app:)
3 ★Buggy but good info. The search option rarely works. The app is made in Australia so the foods are specific to Australia. Specifically, fruit varieties and premade products are limited to that region. Convenient when it works, though!
3 ★The feedback button in the app is opening as a share link for me so I'll add my feedback here instead. It would be great to be able to filter only for food which is high in a certain FODMAP, i.e. if I want to avoid anything high in fructan, show me everything I need to avoid.
5 ★Handy, easy to use and constantly updated. I love that the purchase price goes toward further research. Any way I can support food science is a big win.❤
3 ★The search feels finicky and slow. Sometimes it'll randomly show unrelated results above my actual search results. Other times I need to exit and reopen the app again for the search to display results. Needs more QA testing or something.
5 ★Great app and very helpful, but I would like to be able to filter by the fodmap categories alone for the reintroduction phase. For example see what foods are in only on the fructans category etc.
