HelpOut enables friends and acquaintances to come together in times of need and help each other.It uses your existing friend networks - facebook friend list and/or contact list - and if you can provide help of any kind (monetary, food, supplies, transport etc) it identifies those amongst your network who need it, and if you need help it helps connect you with those who can provide it. Discreetly and respectfully.
The core idea behind HelpOut is to help you identify people you can trust have a genuine need - either people you already know, or those recommended by friends you trust.
You signup as ’Needing’ or ‘Offering’ Help and give HelpOut access to your facebook friend list and phone book. When someone from your lists signs up, those who need help are matched with those who are offering it, and can contact each other to make it happen.
You can also recommend people you personally know have a genuine need to the ones offering help in your network.
It’s our shared humanity alone that’s the only beacon of hope in these times. Let’s come together to help each other - starting with those we already know.
