اسمه: الشيخ عبد الحميد ابن الشيخ منصور آل مرهون.مولده: 28 / 12 / 1348هـ.
تعلم القراءة والكتابة على يد أخويه الفاضلين: الحاج الشيخ سعيد، والوجيه الحاج محمد المتوفى في 15 / 2 / 1429هـ ابني الشيخ منصور المرهون، ثمّ على يد ابن عمه الحاج الملا حميد المرهون (المتوفى في 26 / 4 / 1400 هـ).
تعلم الخطابة على يد أخيه الشيخ عبد العظيم المرهون (المتوفى في 13 / 1 / 1424هـ)، ثمّ واصل دراسته العلمية على يد أخيه العلّامة الشيخ علي المرهون، ثمّ على يد الحجة الشيخ فرج العمران (المتوفى في 22 / 3 / 1398هـ).
ويعتبر المؤلف أحد وجهاء منطقة القطيف، ومن أبرز خطبائها المعاصرين الذين بذلوا الكثير على مستوى الساحة الثقافية والتعليمية، وممن قدّم العديد من الخدمات الاجتماعية.
أسس الجمعية الخيرية بأم الحمام والعديد من نشاطاتها، كما لا تخفى لماسته المباركة في تجديد وإعمار المراكز الدينية والاهتمام بها. وهو أحد وكلاء بعض المرجعيات الدينية.
ولا زال أباً روحياً لأبناء مجتمعه وإماماً لمسجد الجامع في بلده أم الحمام، ومن
