از خواص دعای ندبه این است که اگر در جایی با حضور قلب و اخلاص تمام و توجه به مضامین عالی آن خوانده شود، عنایت و توجه امام زمان را به آن مکان جلب می‌کند، بلکه آن حضرت در آنجا حضور می‌یابد؛ چنان‌که در بعضی از جا‌ها اتفاق افتاده است.[۱]
علامه مجلسی نیز در کتاب «زادالمعاد» با سند معتبر از امام صادق علیه‌السلام نقل می‌کند: «قرائت دعای ندبه در اعیاد چهارگانه ـ روز جمعه، عید فطر، عید قربان و عید غدیر ـ مستحب است».[۲]
