Untuk Waktu Sholat Tahajud Sendirii dikerjakaan malam hari setelah Sholat Isya sampai masuk waktu Sholat Subuh dan sesudah bangun tidur, sedangkan untuk Waktu Sholat Tahajud yg paling utama bisa dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga) sepanjang malam yg antara lain
Waktu Sepertiga Pertama ialah yg kira - kira dari jam 19.00 mlm sampai dg jam 22.00 mlm (Waktu Saat Utama), Waktu Sepertiga Kedua ialah kira - kira dari jam 22.00 mlm sampai dg jam 01.00 pagi (Waktu ini saat yg lebih utama) dan Waktu Sepertiga Ketiga ialah waktu kira - kira dari jam 01.00 pagi sampai dg sebelum masuknya waktu shubuh (Waktu yg paling sangat utama).
Perintah Shalat Sunah Tahajud menurutt Hadist Nabi Muhammad Saw yg berbunyi, ”’ Perintah Alloh Turun ke langit dunia diwaktu tinggal sepertiga yg akhir dari waktu malam, lalu berseru : Adakah orang - orang yg memohon (Berdoa) pasti akan kukabulkan, adalah orang yg meminta, pasti akan kuberi dan adalah yg mengharap / memohon ampunan, pasti akan kuampuni baginya, sampai tiba waktu sholat subuh ”’.
