Ziel des Projektes „Jüdische Orte in Bayern“ ist ein innovatives virtuelles Jüdisches Museum Bayern. Mit Hilfe der App können vor Ort jüdische Erinnerungsstätten erarbeitet und erfahrbar gemacht werden.Im hier vorgestellten Pilotprojekt - angegliedert an die Ausstellung „Jüdisches in Bamberg“ in der Stadtgalerie Bamberg – Villa Dessauer - wurden zunächst zehn Orte in Oberfranken ausgewählt. Sie stehen exemplarisch für verschiedene Themen wie Religion, Alltag im Landjudentum, Schulung der Kinder oder Auswanderung im 19. Jahrhundert. Sie alle beleuchten schlaglichtartig einen Aspekt jüdischen Lebens in Oberfranken und ergeben so ein Puzzle, das je nach Zusammensetzung neue Assoziationen und Perspektiven aufwirft.
Dabei reicht der Blick vom Mittelalter bis in die Gegenwart und den heutigen Umgang mit jüdischen Kulturgütern.
Basierend auf der vorgelegten App können in Zukunft weitere Institutionen und Gemeinden in Bayern, die sich mit ihrer jüdischen Geschichte befassen, andocken. Das Ziel ist eine allmähliche Erweiterung auf ganz Bayern und wenn möglich auf ganz Deutschland.
