Mil novecentos e sessenta. Em uma década de marcos para a história e para o comportamento da humanidade, o potiguar e filho de alemães Hans Walter Luck fundou a Luck Viagens. Mais do que o nome da família, a empresa foi batizada com a palavra que, em português, significa "sorte" aquela que acompanha os audazes, como diz o ditado.A agência que oferecia viagens a lazer funcionava em uma pequena sala no Edifício Bancomércio, na Rua Matias de Albuquerque, no Recife. Em 1970, interessado pelo negócio, o irmão de Walter, Werner Luck, comprou a empresa e passou a prestar também serviços de receptivo.
O domínio Luck sobre o segmento deixou duas marcas de seu pioneirismo em Pernambuco naquela década: foi publicada a primeira cartilha para guias de turismo e a empresa comprou o primeiro ônibus específico para turistas.
