كتاب صاحبة الرنان عبارة عن قصة جرت في الأحياء المصرية الفقيرة ,يتحدث عن فتاة تدعى صبرية وهي بطلة القصة,هي صبية بقيت في بيت أمها بعد أن تزوجن أخوتها ,وسلبت منهم الحياة والدها ومرت السنين واطلق عليها عانس حتى جاءها طالب وكانت تتوقع عشيقها عابد وكانت المفاجأة بأن له أخا تؤام يدعى زاهد.أرادها لأنه رأى الرغبة في عيون أخيه وحبه لها.وقال في نفسه سوف تصبح لي.حتى جاء يوم ونحرت به على يد زوجها الرقيب الذي يرجع من المعارك يوميا.وأصبحت صاحبة الرنان ملاك في السماء. تركت ورائها عشقا لعابد وثلاث بنات من اخيه.
سميت هذه الرواية بصاحبة الرنان لأن عابد العاشق لصبرية كان يهديها كل سنة خلخالا,تطير فرحا به حتى وافتها المنية على يد أخيه وأصبحت بناتها تحت رعايته....
