In 2000, there were more than a million Rastafari around the world. About 5-10% of the Jamaican population identifies itself as Rastafari. Most Rastafarians are vegetarian or eat only certain types of meat. In the US there are many West Indian vegetarian restaurants, which provide Jamaican food.
