الرقية الشرعيّة في الشريعة تأتي بمعنى ( "عوذته بالله" ، والاسم منه "الرقيا" ) ويقول الشيخ محمد الألباني بأن "الرقى" هي قراءة الدّعوة من القرآن بهدف الشّفاء و قد تكون كلمات من السّنة النبوية الشريفة و ليس ما يتداوله بعض الناس من كلمات غير مفهومة وعبارات أشبه بالطّلاسم ، فإنها قد تكون من الكفر و الشرك .شروط الرقية الشرعيّة :
* يجب أن لا يكون في الرقية كلام شرك أو معصية
* يجب أن تكون الرقية الشرعيّة باللّغة العربيّة و لها معنى مفهوم
* يجب أن يكون الإيمان التام بأن الرقية لا تشفي إلا بأمر الله تعالى
وتكون الرقية بأن يقرأ الرّاقي على موضع الألم ، ويمسح الموضع بيديه ، بماء أو من غيره ، و ينفث بعد القراءة على نفس الموضع. و يمكن أن يكون الرّاقي هو شخص آخر أو المريض نفسه ، و يمكن للمسلم أن يرقي نفسه و غيره أيضاً ، و كذلك يمكن للزوج أن يرقي زوجته و ترقي الزوجه زوجها، والعلاج من الرقية الشرعيّة يعتمد بدرجة كبيرة على صلاح الإنسان و أعماله .
