Description

OSM City Maps for Android Wear allows you to view Open Street Maps (OSM) directly on your Android Wear device. Maps are accessible both in online in offline mode.

In online mode the app downloads data directly from OpenStreetMap server.

For offline mode you can pre-load maps onto your phone and then transfer them to your wearable for standalone execution (even without phone).

Moreover, for each offline map you can add custom pins to mark your personal point of interests. There are 45 pins to choose from, each can be given distinct color and title. Pins will appear on your map on watch.

If you are missing a map, please use in-the-app Map Request form and submit your request. Now you can also import a map yourself; instructions are included in the app.

We are also introducing route planning feature into the app based on the Graphhooper library. While in testing phase the feature is free to use without limitations on the maps that support navigation.

Free version of the app will show a Trial message on the watch screen. This can be removed by buying premium version as in-app purchase.

This app does not directly embed maps (apart form simplified world map). All maps are downloaded by user selection. The app uses maps from OpenStreetMap.org project (Open Data Commons Open Database License) and as rendering engine it uses MapsForge library.

App offers access to almost 1000 offline cities maps, among them:

5 ★(Updated) initially I was gtg trial e1 after gtg premium version. Had to clean slate and install again.. Awesome experience... (suggestion) Add more offline and interactive maps

3 ★Pretty useless as a trial.

5 ★Pros: Simple, easy to use. scroll, zoom, show direction, support Sony SW3 inbuilt GPS! Tips: I paid for the premium version and downloaded a map for my city, uploaded it to the watch, but there was black text covering the map telling me "Please, use the phone app first to download and transfer maps to your wearable". To get rid of that I held down my finger until the red cross showed so I could restart the app. Then I was in a world of wrist-mounted map pleasure.

5 ★Please add Bucharest-Romania so I can use it as well... I find it a vrey nice ideea! Thank you! Thank you very much for the prompt response and the update, it works perfect! As soon as I get payd, I will buy the full version altolhough you where decent enough to leave the app fully usable with the free version as well. Kudos to you! Cheers! 5 stars ;)

1 ★App has huge "trial" label slapped across it which makes it unusable unless you pay for it. This isn't disclosed at all in app description which misleads ppl into thinking this is a free app its not. Avoid.

5 ★Very useful having offline map on watch. No wating for network for displaying map

3 ★I find it hard to rate this app. It looks like it might be good, but the trial stamp over everything makes it impossible to tell. Premium cost is typo high. Uninstalled.

5 ★Could you please force the app to use the watch's built-in gps when it's activated instead of the phone's gps? [Edit:] Yes the watch automatically uses the phone's gps when connected, that's what I meant. I know that's the default behavior of android wear but it's possible to force the watch to use its own gps even when connected - I've seen another app doing it. My phone's gps is disabled usually and it doesn't make much sense to pull out my phone to turn on its gps everytime before I use this app on watch

1 ★Free download which is unusable due to a massive TRIAL word stamped across the screen, offline map download is limited, better off just sticking with Google maps.

2 ★For some reason when I use offline maps on my Sony smartwatch 3 it shows me a trial screen and blocks my views of the map
