Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★The photos don't snap into place so most of the time I'm looking at a pet, I'm looking at half of one photo and half of another photo. I've reached out to several of these shelters, rescues, and users inquiring but no one has addressed me. Boyfriend has the same experience. We even tried to call some rescues and they don't answer the phone! Wish I could get some progress made so we can adopt an animal in need instead of going to a breeder. But at least they answer when they're contacted.
3 ★In 2016 & 2021 I used the website to find/ adopt two of my dogs. The app was not available in 2016, & since 2021 the app has improved significantly w/ ease of use, layout, & bugs. Developers, expanding the distance options to include 250 miles & 500 miles would be a big improvement as I prefer to search up to 500 miles, but the "custom" option is inconsistent & tedious. To adopters, don't use the "inquiry", go to the shelter website & fill out an app. Most shelters won't see your "inquiry".
4 ★It works ok. I wish it had a feature to X out pets such as the ones that have been on there for 6 months but aren't actually available. Or animals that simply aren't right for my house so they don't keep coming up on the search. There's room for improvement and more specific searches would be helpful. There's also no notifications when new animals are added.
3 ★I haven't had problems with this app until about a week ago. It constantly crashes when I go to modify the filters and search area. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice now. It'll work normally for about a day then starts crashing again. Guess I'll just have to use a desktop/laptop search instead until the problem is fixed.
2 ★Signed into this using my Google account, but when when I use that method on the actual website, the accounts are not the same, none of my favorites. No app option to login with email, just Google or Facebook. Very frustrating. No clear way to save fav searches in app, and there's nothing in the settings that let you confirm your email or any other info. Really poor usability. Feels like it's not trying to work with the site and is detrimentally bare bones.
3 ★Better than the web app, but much room for improvement. 1. There is a notification option for "new pets" but I haven't been notified about several rounds of new additions to the platform. 2. The ability to save a filter and get alerts when new pets who meet those conditions are added would be killer 3. Every time I press the "Ask about this pet" button, the contact info part of the form is mostly blank. The app should let me save those details for the next time I fill that form.
2 ★App is not as good as the desktop version.I press a button or try to use the search function and I takes forever to register and process my request . On top of that It's not showing the correct info for the dog that I'm looking at for example I love the picture of the animal and it's one from 8 months to over 2 years ago instead of a current or more recent picture and it does this for several pets.
4 ★Love the look and functionality of the app. I've been using it for years and it does keep getting better and easier to use. The only thing that has become super annoying is every time I open the app it acts like it's my first time logging in and doesn't remember my previous search. For me that means redoing the whole search by checking 30+ breeds and redoing the map every time I open the app. Could there be a way that when I login with my username it always remembers my previous search?
4 ★it's a great app! The only issue I have with it, that isn't necessarily the app's fault, is that a lot of animals stay on the app, even though they're not available. Maybe ask the adoption places if an animal is still available or not after a month or so, and if they're not or they don't respond within a week, remove the animal from the list, or unlist them so they could just as easily put them back on without having to fill out a form about them again.
3 ★Look, I love Petfinder as it's a great resource for finding rescue pets, but this app has some serious issues. Sometimes it won't load any photos for days at a time, then all of a sudden it decides to work, and then not work. The app has far fewer search options and functionality compared to the website. It hasn't been updated since Jan 2015...almost 4 years and no update, really?!? Tried using the website instead, but that is far from mobile friendly (pages load very slow, links won't open, etc). So basically Petfinder has allowed these homeless pets to be virtually unaccessible. Damn shame.
2 ★It would be a really grate app if it didn't reset and loose all of you favorites and preeferences every time you log out/are automaticly loged out. ---- The crashes were anoying but they weren't my issue. The app losing all my favorites was. I will try it for a bit and see if that issue is resolved. But I can tell right away that when I log-in none of my setting from the account I set up on the website are there. One would think if both are suposed to be petfinder that they would be connected.
1 ★This app constantly deletes the dogs that I favorite. Every time I return to the app all the dogs I have already saved have completely disappeared. It's very frustrating when the whole point is to save those I have already looked at to not waste time searching thru the same dogs over and over. Also saving allows me to keep an eye on the dogs I am interested in, in situations where they get adopted by someone else. I am tempted to just delete the app and use other methods of searching.
