A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★If you scan the qr code you must still have the default wifi router and password. If you rename either you need to manually input this information. You also need to be sure you are on your 2.4ghz network. 5ghz will not work. Even said all this the app is limited. I can't get a true representation of actual connected devices to show up in the app even though they are connected to the router. Tech support says it's the app. I periodically check but still no update. I contacted them months ago!
5 ★I haven't had any problems that others are experiencing. I mainly got the app to change the SSID and password. I mostly use it as a modem since I have a netgear nighthawk router, however I did connect my phone to test the speed and distance. The arris is in my basement and I get a strong signal on the third floor on 5.0. I'm confident that I could use it for wifi for all my devices if something happens to my netgear router.
1 ★the app doesn't even connect to my router when I try to login even though I have a strong internet connection. it's useless.
1 ★I purchased a wi-fi router/modem SBG8300 recommend on Cox list of equipment installed this app. I followed the instructions and after creating a login the app won't let me log in. There is no way to rest the login so now it's basically a useless app. Also had a difficult time getting the SBG8300 to work with Cox internet. I spent over 2-3 hours with them on the phone over a 2 day period of time. Not sure if I should return this device and get a refund. But the SBG8300 seems to be working now.
1 ★What is the point of this app, if you cannot connect to your own router? It just doesnt connect after entering the wifi and password. Surprised to see so many similar comments and still no action from them. Pathetic. And even their router parental controls are just ridiculous. Lucky that somehow the router works but have to get router with better support.
1 ★Horrible!!! For android users!!! The app does not work for android! It only works for apple. Called Arris number for help and they kept saying it was my phone for hours till a "manager" said were having issues and they would be fixed. It's been 3 months and the app still doesn't work.
1 ★I got the device set up using default settings very easily, but default settings are insecure. So, I tried to configure the router on my laptop. Didn't work. Downloaded this app. Can't even log in. Worse than useless. If you care at all about security, don't just avoid this app. Avoid any router sold by Arris.
1 ★Uninstall. That's the best way to use this app. Why? If you want to access your gateway's settings, you need to uninstall the app. Huh, you ask. Yup. I kept getting put through a loop where it wouldn't allow me to log in because I was logged in somewhere else. This loop would occur on the app, mobile browser, and PC browser. Restarting the modem helped but the loop immediately returned. Contacted tech support, went through the usual, eventually had me uninstall the app, everything works fine now. I asked about the app. Their solution: uninstall the app, access your settings, reinstall the app. Umm, no thank you. App deleted.
1 ★The app lost its connection to the device because the password I entered was to long. I recommend just connecting a computer to one of the Ethernet ports on the device and useing the built in web pages. The app also does a loading screen every time you switch back to it.
1 ★Can't log in and I'm not using the wrong password this thing's a piece of s*** app. Also that SBG 8300 3.1 it's not compatible with WeMo mini plugs. Piece of junk. It does work well though just for a modem router but that's it. Can't believe it's not compatible with any smart plugs.
1 ★This gateway is being returned and I will not be buying another Arris product as long as they are forcing users into mobile apps where they can harvest data. The app does not allow you to log in without allowing location access. No thanks. I want to manage my network and I want to do it from the gateway GUI, not from yet another mobile app.
1 ★Dumbest app ever!! It's been searching for my wifi for three days now. It can't seem to find it Which is hilarious, since the device is working and wifi is present throughout the entire house. I've removed and installed it several times. Same result. Do not install this app. It serves absolutely no purpose.
