Description
Welkom bij de app van Boerke Verschuren.Boerke Verschuren is voor vele hun tweede huiskamer. Een plek waar lief en leed wordt gedeeld en waar wordt gelachen en gehuild. Boerke kent nu een zeer uitgebreid en uiteenlopend bestand van vaste gasten en dat is misschien ook wel de kracht van het Café. Iedereen is welkom niemand uitgezonderd. Als je nu binnenkomt ademt het café een en al historie, de muren zijn voorzien van oude schilderijen van vroeger, waaronder ook een portret van Adrianus Verschuren. Ook een foto van de Ginnekenmarkt rond 1900 heeft een vaste plek in het Café.
Het Café heeft een brede functie in de buurt. Het is een plek voor vele verenigingen, bands, bridgeclubs en ga zo maar door. Bands als “Dirty Dozen’’, ‘’Huysluy’' zijn kind aan huis. Ook de hockeyclubs hebben hun plekje gevonden in de Achtersael, na eerst een maandelijkse feest op de club komen ze daarna richting de Achtersael om daar feest te vieren tot in de kleine uurtjes, beter bekend als “Satedansje Verschuren’’. Ook de Jazz avonden en middagen met Joep Peeters zijn weer terug van weggeweest. Vaak zorgen bekende jazz artiesten samen met Joep voor een fantastische avond/middag in onze Achtersael.
