The General Practice Training & Education Conference will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, 26-27 August 2015, bringing together over 500 GP registrars, supervisors, prevocational doctors, medical and cultural educators, training provider staff, practice managers, cultural mentors, and other key medical education personnel to share experiences and knowledge, innovation and ideas.The conference app allows delegates to view information on the program, speakers, social functions, exhibitors and more.
Hobart provides the ideal location for the conference theme ‘Towards 2020 – enduring success in the new world’ with its blend of heritage, scenery and culture, with world class activities and attractions nearby. It is a destination that will energise, inspire, challenge, focus and connect; the ideal location to discuss the foundations of quality general practice training, vision and creativity, transition and sustainability as we look towards the future of GP training.
The conference theme and sub-themes have been incorporated into a range of plenary sessions, concurrent workshops and paper presentations in conjunction with exciting social functions. A welcome reception will be held at Tasmania’s amazing Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) on 25 August, the evening prior to the conference opening. A gala dinner will be held in the new Macquarie Wharf 2 (MAC2), located in a premium position in the heart of Hobart's waterfront, overlooking the iconic Hobart waterfront precinct against a backdrop of Mount Wellington.
