3 ★I regularly use PENUP and have found it to be an exceptional art app for general art needs. I'm regrettably disappointed in the most recent update. The user interface isn't as easy to use, and the brushes are no longer as versatile (although I do appreciate the greater variety of options). In particular, the blending tool has worsened, and the lining brushes don't offer nearly small enough sizes. I hope to see some of the prior brushes and the prior blending tool restored.
2 ★I agree with the newer posts. this app was very user friendly, and was perfect the way it was. then the update happened, which was a completely new overhaul of all the settings and pens. it's not impossible to use, but since you need to adjust every single pen to even get it to how you used it before, there will still and always be issues. this app was perfect the way it is, an update like this is not necessary. maybe the app needs a version select, for those who prefer an older version.
1 ★The latest update is TRASH! When I sketch, I zoom in to draw the details. Now the tips are over twice as thick at the lowest setting! This makes this app useless because it prevents me from drawing the fine details. Please fix this issue by allowing a thinner tip. Because of this issue, I uninstalled the app and then looked online for an older APK version to install. Thankfully I found an older version (3.9.12.77), installed it and disabled automatic updates for that app.
1 ★As an avid user of PENUP for 2 years, I feel very let down by the most recent update. The old brushes were much nicer to use, none of the new tools come close. The sizes are no longer versatile and can not go smaller for fine details. I would also like to request a way for drafts to be saved to each user. Mine have all been deleted after this newest update, and I am very disheartened by this. [EDIT] The automated response has depleted my hope for the app.
4 ★Decent App, but it has a few issues that make it aggravating to use at times. For one, please fix the smudge tool. All too often, it will leave a dark circle as an after effect, completely ruining the smudge and making you undo that stroke. It happens more often when using short, quick strokes, reg a regardless of transparency settings it is always dark. I only do black and white, not sure if it occurs with colors.
1 ★The opacity of the pen sucks. It's bad. The pen sizes can't be 100% adjusted, making it hard to draw. I tried a coloring page and didn't even like the choices. I'm better off just using my old phone and its memo features because I was able to draw sketches right away from my screen editing a little note or email. What is difficult for me is I can't view the lines correctly with the copy-paste popping up with the pen. I think that should be removed.1☆ Terrible app
1 ★Not a very good app the eraser is waaay tooo complicated!!! There are two separate sliders used to adjust the eraser. One slider adjusts how big you can make the eraser. The other spider adjusts how many layers you can erase. I did not even realize that's a thing but it is and honestly only an actual idiot with no brains would even care about that! I just want to be able to pick between erasing a single annoying tiny dot or erasing a single annoying giant dot!
1 ★I was drawing with PENUP not too long ago using the pencil tool and got frustrated with the selection tool not showing what I'm moving. So I checked if there was an update and updated once I saw it. Now the pencil size and erasure size is too big and the texture is too soft. I mostly use PENUP over other drawing apps specifically for the pencil's texture and the erasure ability to get very small. I would like for the pencil to go back to its original texture, which was perfect.
3 ★When selecting the size of brushes... a size "1" may be super tiny for one brush and HUGE for another. There needs to be better options. And better orientations. It takes me FOREVER to draw on here vs. On paper because I have to keep changing brushes and sizes... THEN i have to go back and erase outside my outline, but the eraser is too big, even at its smallest so i h ave to brush it back in again. Pen, brush etc & paper are way better than this pp. The only major pro to this app is convenience
3 ★This is a good app with so much potnetial. I personally would like to raise the score more if the options weren't too simple. I think it would be perfect if you could add layers, zoom in/out where ever, and a select tool so it's easy to fix a sketch. Not to mention, when I start to draw, there are code bars that form where I draw. Is that an astetic/there a way to turn it off? This app is functional and easy to use so I will keep it. Please update so I can love it more! Got something good here!
4 ★It's been so much fun using this app and I honestly love where all of the tools are at in terms of variety and usability. My ONE thing I wish it had is better quality. Whenever I want to download my work it's SO pixelated. I just want that 300 dpi look 🥲🥲🥲. I end up having to fudge the resolution by importing it to photoshop which kinda defeats the purpose.
1 ★I enjoyed using this program to draw in bed, little doodles to help me think. The recent update has made it near impossible for me to use, due to the angle sensitivity forcing me to change the way I hold my stylus, and the removal/inaccessibility of the one brush that I used.
