2 ★I sm super dissapointed, i bought the smooth 4 early in the year. Using an Ipohone 10 initially it worked great and I was thrilled. Recent trip to CO the panorama moded did not work at all. Just bought a samsung and find same issues as other reviewers. I can use it just fine for some things I am sure. But ill have to play and see. My hand shaked so it does help me to get better shots.
1 ★Need to give the 0.5 because I just now found out this app will NOT save to an SD card on the S9. Need to give it a ONE until there is resolution to object tracking. Not sure what the Smooth 4 is watching but it certainly is not the object I selected. Not sure if this is firmware or software issue but in either case this feature absolutley does not work. At least not with the Samsung S9.
1 ★This app doesn't work with my Google Pixel 7 and continually disconnects/reconnects the Bluetooth so the app can't communicate with my Crane M2. Also because of this the wifi connection to my Sony A6000 can't be established. To confirm it was the lack of support for my phone that caused issues, I tried the app on my 2020 Iphone SE and it worked just fine. It did everything the app was suppose to do. What's the point if the app doesn't support newer phones? Trash app, trash company.
4 ★Many of the problems with the software are due to handset maker's locking down the API's. Most of the complaints (not all) are due to user error or inexperience with gimbals in general using Android. Not all camera maker's will allow 4k @ 60fps outside the native camera app. And saving 4k 60fps at high bitrate to SD will likely cause buffering issues which will lead to dropped frames or corrupted files. Many of the complaints are exactly the same as you will see with DJI software.
1 ★This app deserves less than one star! It will connects to the Crane M2 gimbal but WILL NOT facilitate the connection to the Sony a6400 via QR functionality, and that seems to be the only method available. An error occurs each and every time. I suspect it has to do with my Samsung Note 8. You shouldn't have to buy a new phone to use a gimbal with a camera (especially if the phone is only used to facilitate the initial connection).
1 ★The app keeps losing the bluetooth connection with my Galaxy, the tracking doesn't work properly, the device just starts spinning all over the place and loses its connection. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled now it will not pair with my bluetooth. I'll be sending the stabilizer back because it's pretty useless without the apps functions.
1 ★Just bought the Smooth 5S and although I like the gimbal and it's ability to handle the payloads I use, the APP is garbage! DJI OSMO Mimo app is GARBAGE too if you have an Android device. It amazes me after several of these gimbal product iterations that these mfg's cannot get these apps to work right! Newer phones with greater capabilities and I can't even record in 1080 60fps? 4K 60 fps? It's been like this for several yeas and we are forced to use the native app. Or return the gimbal!
1 ★I bought the smooth 4 to use with this app for Facebook Live streaming in order to be able to use the zooming wheel feature of the gimbal, among other features. Developers reply to me via email that they were waiting for Facebook approval for their app update to comply with the new Rtsps protocol. That was almost 3 month ago and still waiting. For stabilizing, the gimbal smooth 4 works very well, but I am unable to use any of the features for Facebook Live streaming until this issue gets resolve
1 ★Smooth 4 manual QR code leads to this app. Attempting to pair BT, Smooth 4 not shown as option, only Smooth Q2 is shown. Selecting that fails to find device. But the device can be located in BT settings confirmjng gimbal operating within range. So cannot connect and device is effectively useless. Will return to Amazon if unresolved in 48 hours.
3 ★I think the ZY Play app and the gimbals would greatly benefit from a 24 FPS option and also being able to set move points within the app not only for time lapse, but also for standard video. People using gimbals want cinematic footage and 24 fps is the cinematic standard. Being able to set movement points on the gimbal within the app for live video as opposed to time lapse would make the gimbals a 3 axis motion control head and that would greatly enhance their value for effects shots ie cloning
3 ★The app tends to crash every now and again giving me a frozen screen. This happens regularly if you reset the zoom knob to 1.00 while filming with the Smooth 4. Reconnecting it means closing the app and maybe your footage is still there. With the pro mode, there is no on (phone) screen way to stop the recording.
2 ★Even if you haven't used the app in weeks or months it is constantly consuming 70+ MB of system RAM and takes up 131MB of internal drive space ....it can not moved to external SD storage nor can it be shut down or process killed to free up resources. In short this is an occasional use app that chews battery for no good reason. It simply should never have a process running or use resources until I open it for my camera...... It is rare to need to recalibrate so I will probably just uninstall!
