Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

2 ★I should not have to login whenever I want to read complete articles. NYT app works far better. Even the Chronicle's rating questionnaire freezes up.
3 ★Not user friendly...other papers are MUCH better--LA, Chicago, Seattle, NYT...all of which I go to first even though I am a Chron subscriber
5 ★Don't always have time to read the physical paper,. The app helps so much by giving access all day.
5 ★features never load in the app - just a blank page. ridiculous that I have to log in separately on the browser to read features.
1 ★Ads constantly ambush the page focus, making it a really annoying and tedious experience. Just dreadful! Update: 3 years later,. it's Worse!
4 ★This works best on a tablet. Phone interface leaves a lot to be desired.
5 ★Saturdays are "no paper news" days so my tablet is used. It works just fine but I truly prefer the old fashioned newspaper.
2 ★almost there...The old app sucked. This new just needs to fix a few glitches, like returning to the same place after reading an article. and is there no search? And I lowered this to two stars when yet again the app got stuck on opening. That has been happening more and more. Software people, we would like to get to the content please !
5 ★This is far superior to the 12 weeks for .99¢ option which adamantly refused to let me read any article quickly becoming excruciatingly frustrating,
1 ★The app is terrible. It takes five minutes to load content. I've timed it, and the whole time you are stuck staring at a spinning wheel. If you leave the app for any reason, the load/spinning wheel process starts all over again. What makes this really annoying is if you go to their actual website they make sure a banner that you cannot remove even thought there is an 'X' encourages you to use the awful terrible app
2 ★Very little updating on mobile app..same stories appear for days, old news is commonolace
4 ★Great app but sometimes the push notifications don't take me anywhere in the app and app hangs in infinite state. Also samw issue with deeplinks.
