Невский проспект — повесть Николая Васильевича Гоголя. Входит в цикл Петербургские повести. Написана в 1833—1834 годах.Впервые напечатана в книге Арабески. Разные сочинения Н. Гоголя, ч. 2-я, СПб, 1835. Замысел повести Невский проспект относится еще к 1831 году, когда Гоголь сделал несколько незаконченных набросков, рисующих пейзаж Петербурга.
Сохранилось два наброска повести Невский проспект: Страшная рука. Повесть из книги под названием: лунный свет в разбитом окошке чердака и Фонарь умирал…. Оба наброска, относящиеся к 1831—1833 годам, связывают с замыслом повести Невский проспект.
