Description

This application is a sidekick to the beastmaker 1000 and 2000. It has been designed to assist the user into gradually getting stronger on a fingerboard. The app does this by way of prewritten workouts which are often general and aim to improve all trainable grips on the board. Some are specific (2000 series only at the moment) which aim to improve, sloper strength, pocket strength and crimp strength.

There is also a new custom workout program fully adjustable and includes the 1000,2000 and micros, so if you have your own hang regime and different timings then that is all programmable and can be saved.

Both the workouts and custom timer now record hang contraction time (time spent actually hanging off the board) We recommend most users get up to around 20:00 minutes on this clock whilst doing their workouts.

On the Workout screen after you've selected your work out it is now possible to adjust set and hang times. Users who are only finger boarding and are having a rest day prior to and after training may wish to do up to 3 sets and 7 hangs. Other users may prefer to go for 2 sets and 6 hangs, this is what we'd consider an average and more suited to people doing additional types of training.

produced in conjunction with yaystudios.com

Please note the grades for the workouts aren't actually meant to relate to anything other than themselves. E.G. 5c is easier than 6a but harder than 5b. If you find 5a hard on the 1000, use a weight removal technique such as putting one foot on a chair in front of the board or using a pulley with weights on. More advice on this and other things are available in the general advice section on the Workout Ratings page.

To record your hangs press the record button (red circle icon) whilst resting. The Workout Ratings function is much improved and should now be a really useful training aid which records gradual progress and improvement.

Fingerboard gains take time, remember to warm up thoroughly and move on to more difficult hangs at a slightly slower pace than you think you should to give pulleys time to catch up with muscles. For example 10% strength gains over a year is brilliant improvement. 5% is still effective training.

Best of luck with the training, happy hanging and we hope this helps with the motivation.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

2 ★Just not a very well designed app. Should be free for anyone that caughedup 150$ for their boards.
3 ★Aesthetically this app has some poor formatting but this does not affectperformance. I would love if they could implement a feature which couldallow me to save custom workouts, including the little hand illustrationsas a reminder for each exercise.
3 ★Good app for training but I would really appreciate possibility of customization of workouts..I would expect this feature is a matter of course in case of paid app..
3 ★It's a modest fitness app, disappointing to find that it is lacking in general information of what the actual holds are. I feel as an app that comes at a premium this is very poor as it assumes you know what a four finger chisel is.
2 ★Im amazed that you didnt fix the custom timer in the update. I set it to 7x3 seconds and it automatically drops to 6x2, just like the previous version
1 ★No option to change program rest time. And its only 3 secs. Useless
5 ★Would love to be able to make my own workouts with pics of the holds as a custom workout and increase rest from 2s to a little more. Allows me to use some other resources i have. Timer to continue in background on app switch also needs adding to update (ie so I can SMS in the breaks)
2 ★Great app, the interface is great... But the easiest workout is really hard, it needs some proper beginner and intermediate options instead of all advanced, and the option to make your own workouts is still not forthcoming. This would be a great free companion to the board but as you have to pay for the app as well I'm not sure what you're actually getting for your money
5 ★Best training app I've used, still could use more features i.e. truly customisable and saveable workouts and selectable holds, though a sheet of paper will suffice for now. Failure IS an option, to build a beast you must first break the man!
3 ★Good for workouts although I'm suprised you suggest to train middle-twos already at 5A, which is a quick way to finger injury. Making your own workouts would be great with the ability to customize holds. With presets it'd be nice to be able to change the rest period between hangs from 2 seconds to a bit more. Hopefully you'll bring some nice updates and functionality in the future!
4 ★Really good, would like to see some specific workouts for the 1000 ie slopercentric etc and vibrations every second as an option would be nice, and the option to set How many people are doing the workout so you can cycle around in each other's rests etc, because fingerboarding alone is really boring :-P
3 ★Does what it should but there are a few things that could be improved. The timer stops when you switch to another application, I'd imagine many people want to use data and phones/tablets during the rest period between hangs. There is no logging of custom workouts, it would be good if at a bare minimum the total hang time is recorded and then possible to plot within the app or export as CSV for use in other programs. Finally an option to record the amount of assistance or resistance used would be good.
