2 ★Good training when it works. Despite what their support articles say the app DOES NOT WORK OFFLINE. Starting a workout offline results in the 5 second countdown animation playing, but then it just gets stuck on "Go!" until you close the app or it crashes on its own. If you train in a basement or in a deadzone outside, you'll have to just work off the list of exercises and use things like your phone timer and another gps run app. Apparenly its been a bug since 2017, check reddit
5 ★Awesome app. I recommend it to all my friends. I love the body weight based exercises cause it keeps my workout requirements low and prevents me from using travel, getting to a gym or lack of time as an excuse. Feedback loops are one of the biggest strengths of this app: focus on technique, which exercises you are struggling with, guaging level of effort to draft your next week. The video tutorials while doing the exercise is also super helpful.Feels like a personal fitness coach in my pocket
3 ★the spp does whar it promises. it does rely heavily on the CrossFit program including a ton of burpees. the intensity adjustments based on your input from each session seem to swing too far each way though. they did recently fine tune it so hopefully that helps. Is it worth the $? that is really up to the end user. you could easily put a similar program together for free with a little research online. but if you want a program that does it for you, it is not a bad investment.
5 ★This has been really great! I've been using the app since 2019 and I've been impressed with all the additions and updates with the app. Love the integration of weights, resistance bands, etc. I do wish you could do multiple journeys and when you input info for weights it kept that data and where you left off after completing/ during a training journey.
4 ★I have never had a program work so well. Within a couple weeks of starting, I was feeling stronger and seeing results in the mirror. The only reason I left one star off is because there is no way to sync my runs from any other app into this one. My watch tracks my runs via GPS, so I don't bring my phone (Freeletics only tracks the runs on its phone app from what I can find).
4 ★Good mix, app learns you, great example videos. Limited equipment required. Would like to have more varied programs. Would be nice for strength to require even less equipment, but these are nits. Overall, very pleased. I under rated my fitness level at the beginning so it started out really easy but quickly adjusted and was appropriately difficult soon.
1 ★Can't uninstall enough. After collecting all of your personal info, you find out you need to pay a monthly fee to use it. There is no free option, like it suggests. Hit, "skip for now," and it preps you a workout - and then says you need to subscribe to actually go through it. They're not even upselling optional services. You need to pay to use the workouts.
5 ★Have been using Freeletics for more than 2 years now. Started off as a free user, found it worth the money to become a premium user. New features keep getting added that have helped me with my fitness goals. Ensures it doesn't become monotonous with new journeys and excercises. Would suggest to every serious athlete who is focussed on getting fit
2 ★pros: the app got me to workout more consistently than I had in the past, challenging workouts, went into the last week feeling great cons: gets repetitive, seems a bit like workouts generated by an immature/poorly trained algorithm, last week is 7 workouts which is stupid. I ended the last week with back and shoulder injuries. cancelled my subscription. I think 7 workouts the last week is a sales trick to get you to break them up and roll into the next subscription period.
1 ★There isn't actually any true "coaching", how to do manuevers, it's a glorified timer with YouTube videos of poorly sequenced exercises. The running "trainings" are permanently stuck in meter distance which is just so great for those of us in the US that measure in miles. I could just as easily YouTube exercises and set an interval timer, and pay nothing, total waste of money.
3 ★Uninstalling after 3 years. My main complaint - it's way too cumbersome to use for daily workouts! You can't get into a groove because every few seconds you have to touch the screen, or fill out a survey, or look to see how many seconds/reps are needed. The app could benefit from audio cues and/or audio interaction. As it is now, it's super disruptive for someone who wants to push themselves hard and not be glued to a screen! ... ... ... I'm switching to audio-only workout apps like Aaptiv!
3 ★The workouts in the app works great for me. However the diet part was hard to stick to. The reason I gave it a 3 star is the automatic renewal feature that charges to my credit card automatically without any notifications and does not allow cancellation. To us, this is very poor business practice with deceiving tactics. We like this program for working out, and therefore we and two teens each has a subscription. But due to this automatic renewal, we will cancel and switch to more friendly apps
