Note: LeafSpy is designed for the 2011 thru 2017 Nissan Leaf. For the 2018 Leaf you will need LeafSpy Pro which supports all model years.Before you purchase "Leaf Spy" or the more advanced "Leaf Spy Pro" please be sure to first install the Free version "Leaf Spy Lite" to confirm you have a phone (or android device) and ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter that works with your Leaf.
Once you have the Lite version running and telling you about your battery you can then purchase either the full version "Leaf Spy" or the more advanced version "Leaf Spy Pro".
The Leaf Spy application allows anyone with a Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, Android device with Bluetooth and an ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter the ability to monitor their battery and other vehicle information normally visible only to the dealer.
Due to a recent cost reduction (and feature reduction) many of the cheap ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapters from Asia no longer work with the Leaf and report themselves to be version 2.1. The only one currently recommended is the Bluetooth Konnwei KW902 which still supports all the needed ELM commands to communicate with the Leaf.

5 ★Love all the battery stats that the app pulls from the CAN bus! I particularly like getting battery temperature readings, cell voltages and the differences between the cells. Great app. LEAF Spy was the first app I deemed worthy of purchasing. All my other apps were free. That says something about LEAF Spy I think! :)
5 ★Great for checking battery health, real time status of tire pressure, battery temperature. I use it almost daily with my 2012 since the dash doesn't show SOC%. The logging is usefully also for analyzing trips and trends. Apparently I never drive more than 22 miles one way and my battery is losing about 6% SOH per year.
5 ★So much valuable information gained from this app. The biggest of which for me is knowing how many KWH my battery pack actually has available and being able to monitor my battery state of health.

4 ★The app works very well and is great those interested in SOC etc. rather than the small amount of information supplied by the Leaf dash. UI is good, but not terribly sexy. The app does not exit automatically, and so a notification icon is left behind when switching to another app.
5 ★If you want to push your Leaf to the limit, this app is a must have and a very cheap solution to the problem of accurate battery data. With the added bonus of logging you can see your whole driving history and understand which parts of a journey are the most "expensive" in terms of power. Note to UK users: tire (or tyre) pressure isn't supported on UK models, nor is automatic door locking, so this version is probably the one you want; the Pro version would only be if you need to reset DTCs and I haven't seen the need yet myself.
5 ★I love this app, it really gave me a good idea about the state of health of my Leafs battery. The only problem I have is when you switch the temperature to centigrade, it also sets the distance units to kilometers. Please allow us to change temperature and distance units independently and the app will be perfect. Otherwise I'm very happy with it, definitely worth the money.
5 ★Using it with a Galaxy Nexus phone and ELM327 scanner from BAFX. To get it to work I had to switch settings in the app to look for the device on Port 16 rather than the default Port 1.
1 ★It would not synch even though the lite version worked fine. I got a refund.
