A Rádio Montense FM – Sociedade Montense de Radiodifusão Ltda – começou a transmitir em Frequência Modulada (FM) pela 1ª vez em 1988, através da iniciativa e apoio de vários cidadãos e amigos de Santo Antônio do Monte, representados pelos segmentos industriais, comerciais e políticos de nossa cidade.A rádio começou apostando inicialmente em um segmento musical bem popular, incluindo em sua programação o estilo sertanejo, que na época era bastante raro em emissoras de FM da região.
