Brief Historical Reference

City Kamenka was founded in the XVII century, and its name is associated with the granite banks of the river Tiasmin, lost in the immense gold of grain fields. The history of the city is closely connected with the names of the heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812: N.N. Raevsky, A.P. Yermolov, D.V. Davydov. Here, in the shady alleys of Kamenka, the movement of the Decembrists was born. P.I. Ivanov came to the Davydovs' house here, to secret meetings. Pestel, S.I. Muravev-Apostol, M.P. Bestuzhev-Ryumin and others Decembrists.
The great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin, exiled to the south of Russia by the tsarist government, came to Kamenka several times during the years 1820-1822. Here he was breathing easily to the “supervised exiled poet”; here he rested with his soul.
