Description
La commune de Faa’a est située sur le littoral nord-ouest de l’île de Tahiti. Appelée Tefana, elle est la commune la plus peuplée de Polynésie avec 29 687 habitants recensés en 2012. Son territoire s’étend sur une distance de 5,5 km entre la ville de Papeete et la commune de Punaauia et une superficie de 32 km2. Faa’a accueille l’aéroport international de Tahiti. Celui-ci a été construit entre 1960 et 1961 à l’occasion de l’implantation du Centre d’Expérimentation du Pacifique.
