ALCD政大原民中心電子書城誕生政大原民中心成立於1999年，原名稱是原住民族語言教育文化研究中心（Center for Aboriginal Languages Cultures and eDucation，簡稱ALCD），致力於台灣原住民族之語言保存、民族認定等。
原民中心於2002年起，開始辦理「原住民族族語九階教材」、「四套族語教材」等編輯工作，為方便民眾在數位裝置普及的年代，能以更便利的方式學習、閱讀原住民族族語教材。因此，原民中心在2017年啟用政大原民中心電子書城，免費提供歷年原民中心承接計畫之成果、教材、雜誌等電子書，期待藉此為原住民族語言之保存、推廣盡一份心力。
