A Igreja Batista do Rio Grande, fundada em 13 de abril de 1968, tem como visão FAZER A VONTADE DE DEUS.Sua missão é: Identificados com Cristo levamos as boas novas aos perdidos, a fim de que sejam restaurados pela graça de Deus e se tornem discípulos de Jesus.
Essa história nos leva à certeza de que a Mão do Senhor esteve conosco durante todo este tempo. Relembrar tais fatos nos remete à compreensão da grandeza do caráter de Deus e da Sua infinita misericórdia. Assim como Jó, podemos afirmar que antes O conhecíamos só de ouvir falar, mas que hoje, nossos olhos O vêem.
E, esta revelação produz em nós o desejo de sermos os instrumentos pelos quais vidas serão alcançadas e resgatadas pela Graça do Pai, manifestada em Jesus Cristo. Instrumentos pelos quais, a Missão para nós estabelecida, se tornará viva e nos permitirá “cair na graça do povo”.
Cada um de nós foi escolhido para escrever, com sua vida e testemunho, mais este capítulo da história do Amor de Deus por Jardim Shangrillá. O Amor que resgata o perdido, transforma sua vida de forma integral e faz dele um discípulo de Jesus.
