Criada a partir do desejo de contribuição Social mais intenso do seu fundador Fábio Caballero, a Associação Cidadania Ativa - ASSOCRIN iniciou suas atividades oficialmente em fevereiro de 2003 na garagem e dependências da casa de seu presidente.O projeto inicial era de distribuição de cestas de alimentos perecíveis as famílias carentes, além de promover assistência e desenvolvimento social.
Em pouco tempo, tendo em vista o crescimento do número de famílias atendidas, Fábio Caballero viu a necessidade de transferir sua localização para um espaço onde pudesse atender um número ainda maior de famílias, com mais conforto e dignidade.
Transferiu então a sede para rua Maria Adelaide, 225 - Bairro Veneza, local onde ainda funciona até os dias de hoje.
Esta mudança proporcionou o crescimento e também o surgimento de novas áreas para atendimento, possibilitando iniciar projetos esportivos, didáticos e também na área de bem estar. Hoje a ASSOCRIN atende diversas famílias e é responsável por projetos de inclusão social de grande importância na região do Veneza e adjacências.
