Amalan ini menjadi rutinitas (wirid) as-salafus shalih yang memiliki dasar yang kuat dari Sunnah Nabi.
Imam Nawawi dalam kitab al-Adzkar pada Bâbul Adzkâr ba‘dash Shalâh mengatakan bahwa ulama telah bersepakat (ijma’) tentang kesunnahan dzikir usai shalat yang ditopang oleh banyak hadits shahih dengan jenis bacaan yang amat beragam.
