Cardcaptor Sakura, also known as Cardcaptor Sakura and often shortened to CCS, or so-called Sakura the Catcher Card, is a manga and anime by CLAMP.Cardcaptor Sakura was published in Japan by Kodansha and serialized by Nakayoshi. The series consists of twelve volumes. The series won the Seiun Award for the best manga category of 2001.The anime series on television (1998-2000) is adapted from the manga, consisting of 70 30-minute episodes (divided into three seasons), two films made on screen, and several special editions. The second season of the TV series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix award in 1999.
This animation tells about Sakura Kinomoto, who in the animated version, is told by accidentally opening a book containing the Clow Card. When the book is open, all of 52 pieces of Clow Reed (17 pages in manga) creations scatter throughout Tomoeda. It is the duty of Sakura to reassemble the cards with the help of a creature named Cerberus, which appears simultaneously as the book opens.
