《聊齋》全名《聊齋誌異》，又稱《鬼狐傳》，是中國清代蒲松齡所著的短篇小說集。全書分 12 卷，共 498 篇。內容十分廣泛，包含數百篇思想深刻丶成就卓越的文言短篇小說，幾乎沒有一篇在細節上重覆。書中多談狐、仙、鬼、妖，藉由神仙狐鬼精魅人物的故事，諷刺官場，描寫愛情，揭發黑暗，歌詠友誼，反映了 17 世紀中國的社會面貌。傳說《聊齋誌異》一書，爲蒲松齡在路邊設一茶攤，過路之人給他講一個故事即可免費喝茶，而他將路人所講的故事整理成冊而成。蒲松齡，山東淄川（今淄博市）人，生於明思宗崇禎十三（１６４０）年，卒於清聖祖康煕五十四（１７１５）年，字留仙，號柳泉。十九歲初應童子試，考中縣、府、道三個第一，名振一時。此後屢試不第，七十二歲，始成貢生，四年後逝世。孤潔剛直，不諧於俗。一生窮愁潦倒，深知人情世態。所著《聊齋志異》，極膾炙人口，詩文曰《聊齋集》。另著長篇小說《醒世姻緣傳》。
