Description
Con esta aplicación se pretende facilitar la aproximación del público en general al patrimonio geológico de las comarcas de Cuatro Valles.Para ello se han seleccionado 28 Puntos de Interés Geológico (PIGs), que no son, ni mucho menos, todos los puntos de interés del territorio. Su elección responde a su relevancia, su accesibilidad o su capacidad de soportar visitas sin ver comprometida su conservación. Se trata de enclaves donde se pueden apreciar con cierta facilidad distintos aspectos vinculados al patrimonio geológico, paleontológico y minero de Cuatro Valles.
Los 28 PIGs se presentan distribuidos en las 7 comarcas que integran el territorio. Cuentan con otras tantas señales instaladas sobre el terreno, en las que se ha incluido un código QR a través del que se accederá directamente a un PIG concreto.
En cada punto se ha procurado aportar información sencilla mediante textos, fotografías, esquemas o ilustraciones, que faciliten la comprensión de los fenómenos que se pueden contemplar en el campo. Se trata de facilitar la observación de la valiosísima información impresa en las rocas relativa al origen y evolución de estos valles y montañas, los cambios acaecidos en ellos y los seres que los poblaron durante millones de años.
Para acceder por primera vez a la aplicación se recomienda contar con una buena conexión a Internet que facilite su descarga.
