Description

This is the latest edition of the Food Scanner app and is an opportunity for you to try out our new features within the application whilst we still build to improve the functionality over the following months.

Ever wondered how much sugar is in your fave cola or salt is in your sauce? Find out with the Food Scanner app!

Food Scanner is here to help you and your family make healthier food and drink choices.
It's time to get scanning! Just find a food or drink barcode to quickly see what's inside. You might be surprised by what you find!

Search 'Change4Life' to discover a whole range of ideas to help keep your family healthy and happy.

We are using Augmented Reality within the app that brings to life what’s inside your food and drink right in front of your eyes! There are certain limitations depending on what device you have and if your device supports ARCore. If it doesn’t not to worry we will show you a 3D scenario instead so you won’t miss out on all the fun.

The app is based on the most widespread data available to us. We're continuously working to improve it and we're adding more and more products all the time.

The nutrient data in this app is supplied by Brand Bank and Food Switch.

The number of sugar cubes, sat fat and salt sachets shown in app are based on grams per pack/100g/ml/portion when that information is available.

The weight of one sugar cube is equal to 4 grams
The weight on one sat fat lump is equal to 1 gram
The weight of one salt sachet is equal to 0.5 grams

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

5 ★The app is great when it was working, just like Google User, my app will not scan even with a strong wi-fi signal. there seems to be a problem with the app
2 ★Is this a new app? Almost every product attempted is "barcode not recognised". So its a good concept but I cant use the app so lol
5 ★great little app when you're doing shopping it is easy to scan things before you buy and it's a lot easier than reading the confusing writing the manufacturers put on the packaging. so it's a big thumbs up from me.
1 ★Would haven't have given a one as everytime I try to scan a bar code it would log ou of th app
5 ★Very good be better when more things are added but impressed so far. Having an issue just after 2 days keeps saying internet connection slow but when got home says same thing on Virgin so really fast connection so don't know why any help??
2 ★Doesn't tell me any useful info since cannot enter quantity consumed. Just gives traffic light details that are on the box. Hoping for so much more. Doesn't handle real things like fruit and vegetables.
1 ★Has totally stopped scanning products after just 2 days. The app blame's my network connection even though it a very strong and all my other apps and internet is working fast with no problems. When it worked it was great. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled but still not working. I will try again as the app is great when it works.
5 ★Great app. Hopefully this time the extra extra weight is fixed forever 😡
3 ★Tried the app and seems ok. However it took over my whole screen and the bottom bar vanished so there was no way to exit the app! In the end I found a link to their website within the app and this opened a browser and the bottom bar returned and I could close the app.
3 ★Useful in principle but only seems to cover well known brands. It needs to cover major supermarket own brands or it's missing a large portion of the marketplace.
3 ★Would be nice to have the option of searching instead of just scanning a barcode. Sometimes the packet is at home but the item is at work with me!
1 ★What an utterly ridiculous & pointless app; clearly designed by people that have an incredibly myopic view of nutrition - if you're actually interested in the macro amd micro nutrition contained within your food, I'd suggest using Cronometer instead.
