Setelah mencapai lebih setengah abad usianya, perhatiannya dicurahkan kepada masalah-masalah Islam. Ditulisnya bukunya yang kemudian sangat terkenal, Hayat Muhammad (Sejarah Hidup Muhammad) dan "Di Lembah Wahyu".
