Kumaran is a national level athletic and has worked as fitness expert in five star hotels and top fitness centers in Chennai. He has also trained few celebrities in Fitness and he was one of the coach in "MARG Chennai marathon".Before starting the club, his clients used to workout every day in same place. This created boredom and after few days, the turnout has gone down. He wanted to break this boredom and gamify the workout experience. Kumaran started to train them in outdoor and regularly changed the workout place to increase their interest level. Then he motivated them to participate in marathons and veteran athletics events. After running few marathons they became more passionate about exercises and fitness. Then he started a club called "Chennai City Runners Club".
