Ce dictionnaire vous permette de découvrir la langue kusaal, dialecte tondé qui est parlé au sud du Burkina Faso et au nord du Ghana. Le kusaal est membre de la famille linguistique Nigéro-congolaise, Atlantico-congolaise, Voltaïco-congolaise, Nord, Gur, Gur central, Nord, Oti-Volta, Ouest, Sud-est. Les langues qui lui sont les plus apparentées sont le dagbani et le mampruli, mais le kusaal est aussi apparenté au frafra (aussi connu sous les noms ninkarè et gurune/gurenne) et au mooré.
Il y a deux dialectes du kusaal : le « kusaal de l’est », aussi appelé le « kusaal agolé », qui est parlé uniquement au Ghana, dans la partie est de la région kusaalophone, et situé à l’est du fleuve Nakambé, puis le « kusaal de l’ouest », aussi appelé le « kusaal tondé », qui est parlé dans la partie ouest du territoire kusaal au Ghana et au-delà de la frontière avec le Burkina Faso, et situé entre les fleuves Nazinon et Nakambé. Tous les mots dans ce dictionnaire sont du dialecte tondé du Burkina Faso.

Kusaal is classified as follows: ‘Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, North, Gur, Central, Northern, Oti-Volta, Western, Southeast, Kusaal’. The language is most closely related to Dagbani and Mampruli, but is also closely related to Frafra (also known by the names Ninkare or Gurune/Gurenne) and Mooré.
Kusaal has two main dialects: the “Eastern Kusaal” dialect, also called the “Agole” Kusaal spoken in Ghana only, in the eastern part of the Kusaal area and the “Western Kusaal” dialect also called the “Tonde” Kusaal spoken in the western area of the Kusaal area in Ghana and across the border in Burkina Faso.
