The sensor will record and give feedback for your landing zone, cadence, impact rate, and ground contact time. In the app, you’ll also be able to view graphs and charts to track your progress. You can even compare your metrics and stats over time by week or month. Then share your runs, routes, and photos directly to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

4 ★As other reviews mention. I was not able to create an account or sign in. You can do better Altra! Update: By downloading a different ifit app and creating an account there I was able to then go back to the IQ app and login. And to top it off the sensor in one of my shoes is dead (yes, I tried a new battery) so all of this work is for naught. UPDATE: I found out that the shoes I had were an early release "prototype", and were not intended to work with this app. The great folks at Altra were able to help me remedy this issue, and now I have working IQ shoes. I have used the app for two runs now, and the feedback seems to be fairly consistent. Some suggestions based on my limited use: 1) A setting to allow iFit to "duck" your background music when "coaching" speech is active (it's a little difficult to hear the voice over your music) 2) Some sort of "auto-pause" or "switch to walking" feature, so that your run data does not get "skewed" by your walking intervals (when applicable) Thanks again Altra!
5 ★Update 3: App performed as promised. The audio cues to correct form were great! There's a small delay in the foot strike and info presented, which is expected. I usually don't run with my cell phone on, but the app makes it worth it. I can see a huge benefit to running on a treadmill where you can correct your form on the spot while being able to view the app interface. There was very little difference in the metrics the app presented vs. the ones available on my Garmin (cadence, landing time, etc.), which increases my confidence in both products. Altra continues to be on the cutting edge. This is a big step for runners! <---see what I did there? ;-) Update 2: App developer promptly reached out to me and promised to get things right on my end. Will update my review again as soon as possible. Update 1: App works and can sign up and login. App finds shoes (and shows them as connected), but doesn't give any feedback showing the metrics promised. Original review: Can't sign up or join. We've been promised this app for quite a while. I'm leaving my shoes in the box til this works.

3 ★Needs a persistent notification so I remember to turn it off after a run. And/or automatic storage of the days when the connection to the shoes are lost. Also would like some actionable guidance post run. Oh and the ability to turn off some notifications during the run.
1 ★Really wanted to like this... but the connectivity between app and shoe completely stopped for me, and no amount of troubleshooting fixed it. And the amount of 5 star ratings on here by iFit employees is shameful.
5 ★I've been using the shoes and app for months now and feel like they do what they say they'll do! I've never been much of a runner, so I've found the data and the tips from the app very interesting and I feel like my running has improved. I personally really like being about to track changes and go back and see previous run data. I'm also an Icon associate.
1 ★Very annoyed that I spent so much money on these shoes and then there is no ability to use the app. Because it won't let me create an account. I've tied to login not using Facebook and still no luck.
5 ★I love Altra shoes and have worn Torins for years. With the addition of the IQ technology providing me with feedback during and after my run, I have started to improve my running technique and form. The app is well designed, easy to use, and very intuitive. I'd recommend it to any runner wanting to improve their efficiency. I am an associate of Icon.
