Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Pendayagunaan Aparatur Negera dan RB No. 22 Tahun 2017 tentang Nilai Ambang Batas SKD CPNSTahun2017, peserta harus memenuhi nilai ambang batas 143 untuk Tes Karakteristik Pribadi; 80 untuk Tes Intelegensia Umum;
dan 75 untuk Tes Wawasan Kebangsaan.
Nilai ambang batas ini dikecualikan bagi peserta dengan kriteria formasi cumlaude, penyandang disabilitas, dan kualifikasi
pendidikan Dokter Spesialis. Kelulusan mereka akan ditentukan berdasarkan ranking.
Dalam peraturan lain, ditentukan bahwa jumlah peserta yang dapat mengikuti tes lanjutan, yaitu Seleksi Kompetensi Bidang
(SKB), paling banyak tiga kali jumlah kebutuhan masing-masing jabatan berdasarkan peringkat nilai yang telah memenuhi
ambang batas.
