Description
Air pollution, both in particulate and gaseous forms, influences our everyday life and health. Air pollution changes both spatially (with location) and temporally (with time). At Different locations in a city and at different times during the day, people encounter different air pollution levels and are affected in different ways.This study is designed to investigate spatial and temporal changes of air pollution in the experimental are, Zhen Zhou City. The study will remotely gather data using a large number of smart cell phone users in the city, also known as crowdsourcing. The large dataset obtained will help the scientists analyze and understand the spatial and temporal patterns of air pollution in the city during the year and its relationship to other factors such as weather.
The study will allow scientists to model and forecast the spatial patterns of the future air pollution within the study area to minimize the impact of the air pollution on the residents’ daily life and health. The study is being conducted by researchers at Buffalo State College and Henan University.
